Testimonials

"I am very happy to recommend Gary Steadman as a guitar teacher. He has been teaching my child for two years and she is about to begin taking the first stages of grading exams. Notwithstanding his impeccable rock band credentials he is a very rigorous and careful teacher, concentrating on getting the basics right so that there is a solid foundation for future progress. My daughter has learned that he does not praise unless she has done something right and when Gary tells her she has done well she positively swells with pride, knowing that this tribute has been properly earned. He is reliable and consistent and it is one of my great pleasures to hear him and my daughter playing together as a piece is perfected."

"Gary has been teaching guitar to my teenage son for a couple of years.  He has an easy style of teaching which means Ed is now able to play very competently and confidently from a wide repertoire. He really enjoys his lessons with Gary."

"Gary has been teaching me for four years and has developed my skill as a guitarist across all aspects of genres including rock, pop, classical, flamenco and many more.  Despite being a music teacher, I have also had fun learning my favourite songs and impressing my family and friends playing them.  Most importantly Gary prepared me for my GCSE Music solo guitar performance, for which I obtained an A star.  I have also learnt different techniques with many for both electric and acoustic guitar."

"Gary gave me lessons in bass guitar from 2016-2017 and we have just finished tuition due to me passing my grade 8 bass (with merit). Since I could already play bass before beginning lessons with Gary, not only did he help me develop some of my playing techniques to a more technical level, he was very knowledgeable in theory of music and modes which I became particularly interested in. He was always happy to answer my questions and sometimes when the technical stuff started to get too heavy the lessons would focus on learning and jamming songs or grade pieces and having fun with them. Gary definitely improved my knowledge of solo travel and alternative modes for playing (things that always confused me before) and now, although still learning, I am starting to get more comfortable with them. Overall Gary is a well experienced and great player and good fun to learn with, I would recommend him for players of both guitar and bass."

"Gary Steadman teaches me the electric guitar. He is a very knowledgeable, well organized and experienced teacher and can quickly correct me if I’m doing something wrong. The lessons are enjoyable and I’m currently working on my grade 1 rockschool. He is calm and encouraging and I'm making good progress thanks to his tuition."
