Since I could already play bass before beginning lessons with Gary, not only did he help me develop some of my playing techniques to a more technical level, he was very knowledgeable in theory of music and modes which I became particularly interested in. He was always happy to answer my questions and sometimes when the technical stuff started to get too heavy the lessons would focus on learning and jamming songs or grade pieces and having fun with them.
